Phillippa Ashcroft is senior research and policy manager for health and wellbeing at Marie Curie. Her principal role is to develop evidence-led policy with the aim of improving the end-of-life experience for everyone. Phillippa brings over 30 years experience of working in health and social care voluntary organisations in the UK and internationally. Her most recent roles include expanding a palliative care day treatment centre with hospice at home programme in rural Fenland and leading the public policy work of a national independent advocacy and involvement charity supporting people with additional needs such as learning disability, autism, dementia and mental health conditions. She holds a master’s degree in health policy and focussed her dissertation on unwarranted variation in access to palliative and end-of-life care in England.
